  Spirtism....BLONDIE, or Scully.. or anybody.

  where can you find the passage in the bible that talks about spirtism and when some guy( know) went to visit a spirt medium.

  i'm so drawing a blank and i'm at work.

  and someone's father claims there is no mention of ghost in the bible.

  1 In those days the Philistines gathered their forces to fight against Israel. Achish said to David, "You must understand that you and your men will accompany me in the army."

  2 David said, "Then you will see for yourself what your servant can do."
  Achish replied, "Very well, I will make you my bodyguard for life."

  3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah. Saul had expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land.

  4 The Philistines assembled and came and set up camp at Shunem, while Saul gathered all the Israelites and set up camp at Gilboa. 5 When Saul saw the Philistine army, he was afraid; terror filled his heart. 6 He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets. 7 Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her."   8 So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. "Consult a spirit for me," he said, "and bring up for me the one I name."

  9 But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?"

  10 Saul swore to her by the LORD, "As surely as the LORD lives, you will not be punished for this."

  11 Then the woman asked, "Whom shall I bring up for you?"
  "Bring up Samuel," he said.

  12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, "Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!"

  13 The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. What do you see?"
  The woman said, "I see a spirit [ a ] coming up out of the ground."

  14 "What does he look like?" he asked.
  "An old man wearing a robe is coming up," she said.
  Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.

  15 Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?"
  "I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."

  16 Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and become your enemy? 17 The LORD has done what he predicted through me. The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and given it to one of your neighbors?to David. 18 Because you did not obey the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the LORD has done this to you today. 19 The LORD will hand over both Israel and you to the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The LORD will also hand over the army of Israel to the Philistines."

  Do something truly religious this weekend Go Fishing. You know for real fish. Trout are a lot of fun to catch.

  That reminds me of an saying I heard recently: "It's better to go out and fish and think about God, than to sit in Church and think about fishing".

  this was such a sad exhange and just shows how unnatural this bogus rule by the wbts is.. i see my moms name on the caller id and i immediately pick up.

  (keep in mind we live 2 blocks apart).

  my mom says julia?, and i say no mom its me, you must have dialed the wrong number.. mom: oh, i'm sorry, how are you?

  Things we were persuaded to believe

  linda and i were just chatting about some of the more odd beliefs of jws, and how we tended to accept them despite not totally understanding them.

  the jws have a tendency to pick incidents from the scriptures and look for a modern - day application, priding themselves on being the only ones who can truly understand what these things mean for todays' world.

  there are severa that i had trouble getting my head around, but gullibly accepted the society's take on them.. for example, i always had problems accepting or even understanding the jw interpretation of the 7 trumpet balasts of revelation, which they said were fulfilled by 7 conventions held between 1922 and 1928. the wtbs was an insignificant religion then compared to the more mainstream churches, and isn't all that significant now in terms of membership, and i just couldn't see why a seemingly - significant event in the bible would find it's fulfillment in a series of conventions that the majority of humanity wouldn't even be aware were taking place.

  I told my hubby I wanted to get the mic. and scream into it "DOES ANYONE HERE BELIEVE THIS BULL THAT THIS MEETING IS THE PARADISE THAT PAUL SAW?" My hubby had to stop me so I left and was yelling in the parking lot and never stepped foot in the hall again.

  apologies if this has been covered before... .

  but is it apostacy --- not being repentant for anything (no matter what the "sin" is) --- saying *something* (i forget what) about the "holy spirit"- this last one seems sorta familiar... .

  I was always told it was talking or acting against the holy spirit, but I have no idea what that means.

  I think that's the key for 99.9999999999 percent of humanity. If one is clueless as to the offense, how can one be held accountable? I believe it is as simple as one who is given total knowledge (not belief) of the Holy Spirit and they reject it - then they must be held accountable. Kind of like looking at the Sun at noon and saying there is no light. I believe they are very few in number. For a person to be in that position, something extraordinarily "spiritual" must have happen. For most of us we must live by faith (not necessarily religious) - something that is fundemental to life. (my 2 cents)

  The resurrection of dead pets

  would it be nice if pets also got resurrected to live with their owners once more?

  we can try teaching them all the biblical truths but of course they will not understand anything.

  however their faithful christian owners may want to see them again.

  Animals have NDEs too

  According to many paranormal sources including near-death sources, animals have souls just as humans do. But humans, in general, have always considered animals to be inferior to people. Humans are at the top of the food chain and they are at liberty to kill and eat a wide variety of animal species. Animals, such as the horse, have lived as a virtual slave to human beings for thousands of years. Animals have also been treated in ways that can only be described as cruel and inhumane. For all these reasons, there should be no reason to believe animals are inferior and have no souls. The following are near-death experiences that involve communication and contact with animals on the other side - specifically beloved dogs that died before their owners had a near-death experience. These experiences should convince anyone that animals do, indeed, have souls.
